Rain (the Korean artist, not the natural phenomenon) fans would love this movie! It’s a chance to see their idol in action as a kick-b*tt ninja!

Log line: Renegade ninja meets The Matrix with a pinch of revenge and love.

Gory - the best word to describe most of the butchering - hey, it is an action movie involving ninjas! Duh! Visual effects were tastefully done. If you want a sneak peak, check out the trailer below.

Overall, it’s a good watch movie. 3.5 out of 5.

It is surprising and refreshing to see a young computer graphics enhanced Bruce Willis in this action flick. The CG is amazing, the action is moderate, with a twisting plot storyline.

All in all 3.5 stars.

The Taking of Pelham 123 Movie Review

The movie starts off slow by showing the life of the train controller of Denzel Washington, and slowly evolves to how John Travolta hijacks a train and blackmails the Mayor of New York.

The plot has some twists with lots of action in between, not to mention suspense.

The movie will keep you engaged and it is a highly recommended watch, as it has 2 of Hollywood’s most experienced veteran movie stars to back it up with amazing and natural acting.

We give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

UP Movie Review

If you are an ardent follower of Pixar and Disney’s work, this is one of the best unique plot animation movie that they have ever produced.

Presented to us, (the press) in the richness of 2D digital format, with first 10 minutes in 35mm film format, we noticed the difference in the richness of the color in 2D format and also the sharpness of BluRay High Definition image and video quality.

Further to that, the plot goes on to bring 2 unlikely individuals, an old man with a dream unfulfilled and a young fat cute boy, who is trying to get a scout badge for assisting the old man. They unlikely couple got locked with the old man’s adventure and the plot thickens with lotsa of comedic sequence in between.

One of Pixar’s best efforts and we give it a 5 out of 5 stars for this one!

Harry Potter 6 Movie Review

Harry Potter 6 Movie Review

Emboldened by the return of Lord Voldemort, the Death Eaters are wreaking havoc in both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that new dangers may lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. He needs Harry to help him uncover a vital key to unlocking Voldemort’s defenses—critical information known only to Hogwarts’ former Potions Professor, Horace Slughorn. With that in mind, Dumbledore manipulates his old colleague into returning to his previous post with promises of more money, a bigger office…and the chance to teach the famous Harry Potter.

Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as
teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry’s long friendship with Ginny Weasley is growing into something deeper, but standing in the way is Ginny’s boyfriend, Dean Thomas, not to mention her big brother Ron. But Ron’s got romantic entanglements of his own to worry about, with Lavender Brown lavishing her affections on him, leaving Hermione simmering with jealousy yet determined not to show her feelings. And then a box of love potion-laced chocolates ends up in the wrong hands and changes everything. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof with far more important matters on his mind. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

All in all, 4 stars.

Land of the Lost

Land of the Lost

Three years after being kicked out of the science department for his theory of Time warps, and his attempt on Matt Lauer’s life, Rick Marshall is reduced to working as a teacher at the George C. Page Museum until he meets Holly Cantrell whose finding urges him to create a tachyon amplifier to enable time warp travel. They go to the Devils Cave attraction where the finding was found, hiring its tour guide Will Stanton. But once they’ve activated the tachyon amplifier, losing it in the process, the three end up in a parallel universe where all timelines converge. They soon meet some ape men, Pakuni, two of whom were going to kill the younger one, when Stanton unintentionally gives the other two the secret of fire as they run off. The gang then proceed to help the other one, named Cha-Ka, until he runs off with them in pursuit.

Public Enemies Movie Review

Public Enemies Movie Review

Public Enemies Movie Review

In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger (Depp)—the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public.

No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone—from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.

But while the adventures of Dillinger’s gang—later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) and Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi)—thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw’s capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America’s first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing “Clark Gable of the FBI.’’

However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis’ men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals—from the infamous “Lady in Red’’ to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti—were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.

All in all, 4 stars.

Transformer : Revenge Of The Fallen

Transformer 2

Transformer 2

Synopsis

In “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” two years have passed since Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and the Autobots saved the human race from the invading Decepticons.  Now he’s preparing for the biggest challenge of his life: leaving home for college.  Despite his extreme heroics, the battle of Mission City has become an urban legend believed only by conspiracy theorists.  Sam is still an average teenager with everyday anxieties and excitement about heading off into adulthood, separating from his parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White) for the first time, and vowing to be faithful to girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox).  Of course, he also has to explain his departure to his guardian robot, Bumblebee.

Review

Before we talk about the learning point, let’s talk about the rating of the movie. I would give 9 over 9 for this movie for the movie quality, sound system and story line.

As Transformer 2 is the continuous from Transformer 1, the story line was well told and people easily relate to it. The explanation was also done clearly in the movie.

As for the graphic, more robots this time around. I think Transformer 2 is able to meet the expectation of the audiences as people are expecting more robots and interesting story line.

I word to describe this movie: Brilliant

Key learning point

Transformer robots like and other robots described in the science friction are different in the sense that they have emotionally soft part for living beings.

In the movie, it explains that the leaders of the Cybertron which are called the Primes (Optimus Prime is one of them) were set to find energy sources for their planet in other planets and thus they found earth. They vow not to kill any living beings.

The key learning point is to live and let’s lives. Human beings are born with similar physical characters and because of different environment, experience and education; we behave differently with different personality.

Though at times, we might be selfish when fighting for a better place to live in this world, we might hurt someone around us unintentionally. Therefore, it’s always important to remember that every living being should be given a fair chance to live in this world. For the wrong should be forgiven and success should be cherished together.

As Optimus Prime said, “I have witnessed the capacity and capability of human beings which is able to overcome obstacles.”

Overall rating 5 of 5 stars

17 Again Movie Review

17 Again Movie Review

What would you do if you got a second shot at life?
Class of 1989, Mike O’Donnell (Zac Efron) is a star on the high school basketball court with a college scout in the stands and a bright future in his grasp.  But instead, he decides to throw it all away to share his life with his girlfriend Scarlet and the baby he just learned they are expecting.
Almost 20 years later, Mike’s (Matthew Perry) glory days are decidedly behind him.  His marriage to Scarlet (Leslie Mann) has fallen apart, he has been passed over for a promotion at work, his teenage kids think he is a loser, and he has been reduced to crashing with his high school nerd-turned-techno-billionaire best friend Ned (Thomas Lennon).
But Mike is given another chance when he is miraculously transformed back to the age of 17.  Unfortunately, Mike may look 17 again, but his thirtysomething outlook is totally uncool among the class of 2009.
And in trying to recapture his best years, Mike could lose the best things that ever happened to him.

Review:

The movie is great for fathers and parents to understand the struggles of teenagers. Furthermore, it will bring you back to memory lane on things which you wish you would have done differently or same in this life.

The jokes are candid and natural, and the movie was really entertaining from start to finish. Acting from the main lead of Zac Efron and Matthew Perry is above average.

All in all, 3.5 stars out of 5.
